Ripped graphics, but everything fits. 6.5 Decent/Good.

The music is pretty good. Nothing too fancy, but not annoying. I didn't feel like turning my sound down. I did think you should have changed the music when talking to the boss.

There really isn't any story here. We do get to meet the characters and see how they react in a desperate situation, but... the characters are pretty forgettable. I can't remember their names or personalities.

There were too many frequent battles I think. And all battles could be won by taping down the 'Z' key (cept the boss where I had to heal a couple times). So, yea, it's a pretty typical RPG, but nothing to write home about yet.

I didn't notice any major stability issues besides some general lag. The menus are very slick and as a fellow game developer focusing on menus, I applaud your effort. However, when entering battles, the walking sprite staggers a bit and the BS menus are pretty slow. The BS music was really exciting, but that made the lag in the BS more noticeable since the music made me want to go faster. Overall, pretty stable, but looks like you've got some optimization ahead of you.

The nice thing about this demo is that you knew when it was over. I'm a BIG fan of that philosophy. SO I'd say the demo was a really good length.

On a scale from 1 to 10 on how much this demo makes me want to play the final game, I give EX Gear a 7.5 (don't worry about the averaged category scores)
It looks like a solid game so far, even though there's probably some optimization in its future.
I like your attitude of just wanting to finish a game with your custom systems. I wish you the best of luck.
I also look forward to seeing how you implement your core systems. From what I read at the Expo it sounds pretty cool.
Overall, great job and hope to see more soon!
